Shiitake is a common mushroom found in grocery stores all across the world. It is so because it is a moderately easy to grow mushroom, produces a high to moderate amount of mushrooms on little substrate, and tastes amazing to boot. The texture of this isolate is that of medium cooked meat, and has been said to taste “meaty” by our friends and family. We like to fry chunks of the shiitake cap in butter, then add them to soups the best! There’s a million ways to use your Shiitake mushrooms, however. You can be very open minded with this one.
